Volta FA Holds Successful Seminar For Division Two clubs 

As part of the ongoing football transition and evolution process, the Volta Region Football Association (VRFA) held a successful seminar for Division Two clubs in the region.

The one-day workshop which was held on March 7 2024 at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall was to equip the clubs administrators with basic and requisite about the game.

Mrs. Priscilla Botchway, a lecturer at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) thrown light on Food and Nutrition. The experienced tutor in the field of food and nutrition attributed the cause of frequent injuries that occurs amongst footballers to unplanned and improper way of feeding players.

She however advised that, football administrators should ensure a proper way of feeding players with the needed food components which includes all the necessary nutrients the right way.

Mr. Gershon Dzokoto took turns to talk about first aid and injury treatment.

During his presentation, he emphasized on the need for clubs or teams to have a well trained first aiders. He pointed out the importance of First aid as one of them is to prevent conditions of injured players from becoming worse.

The Regional Manager of the Red Cross Society in Volta Region took time to lecture on the basic first aid on players when injuries occur.

The interactive lecture saw members in attendance picking vital notes of the lessons delivered by the astute Mechanical Engineer.

Sports Marketing is one vital area where talented athletes are packaged and projected to the world.

Mr. Edem Ansah, a renowned football administrator and a football agent took the time to speak on Football Marketing and its importance.

He sñtressed on the need for team owners to be strategic and cultivate the habit of creating links amongst the football fraternity.

Mr. Ansah who is the Chief Executive Officer for Hohoe United FC encouraged football owners to eschew selfishness and greed but rather build bridges by way of lifting themselves to market their players.

The soft spoken Ansah also opined that, club owners and administrators should do well by contacting renowned and influential people in their communities by way of sponsoring their teams as in the modern day world, sponsorship is a key tool to reaching the football world. Mr. Edem Ansah is the founder of Soccer Time Africa.

Next on the bill was retired referee Shine Ayitey. He took the participants of the seminar through the Spirit of the laws of the game.

The referee instructor hitherto acknowledged the fact that, referees are bound to make mistakes but was quick to add that, referees decision is based on the evidence of what was seen.

Mr. Shine Ayitey however noted that, the best matches are where the referees are rarely needed. This he stressed that the players play with respect for each other, the match official and the laws of the game.

The Host Daniel Agbogah eulogized the clubs for their good work they doing for the growth of the football in the region. He also entreat the clubs to adhere to the laws governing the footabll so that any of them will not fall culprits.
