The Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA), Daniel Agbogah has disclosed that the newly constituted Volta Fa Beach Soccer Committee is a strategic One.
He made this known during the media interaction at the maiden Beach Soccer Clinic/Media Engagement at Tegbi in the Keta Municipality.
The chairman was addressing concerns attributed to the composition of the committee.
“The Regional Beach Soccer Committee is a strategic Committee whose membership is more Technical and was selected for a particular reason. Every member was strategically placed in the committee considering the kind of role they will play to help the sport Develop.” He said.
The committee consists of representatives from the Beach Soccer Clubs, Traditional rulers, District Football Associations, Marketers, and other personnel.
Members include –Reuben Dzidodo Adjaho, Mama Ayaba Duse Equagoo II (Queen Mother of Somey traditional area), Joseph Kwasi Nyavi, Barson Foli, Edem Galley, Kenneth Kpedor, and Sandoval Akpabli, with Daniel Kovor serving as the secretary to the committee.
The event which is the first of its kind in Ghana was aimed at establishing a platform to interact with the media and develop an action plan for the development of sports in the region. It also attracted both national and regional Beach Soccer committee members.
Later in the day, 30 young players (27 boys, 3 girls) took part in a Beach Soccer Clinic, which was intended at introducing young players to the sport.
