Volta FA Trophy Tour Reaches Dabala with Call for Discipline on and off the Pitch

The Volta FA trophy tour arrived in Dabala in the early hours of Thursday morning, greeted by the community with mixed reactions, excitement, and anticipation.

As part of the tour’s stop in the town, the Presiding Member, Mensah Kwaku Kudze, addressed players, officials, and supporters, urging discipline and integrity in the game.

Mr Kudze said football is a game of discipline and players had a duty to uphold it on the field.

“Football is a disciplined game, so as a player, when you are playing you must also discipline yourself. He said

If you are not disciplined and you are receiving the cards, you are shortchanging your colleagues. You are putting more pressure on them and they are going to lose more energy,” he added.

He cautioned against confrontations with referees and opponents, noting that such actions could damage a player’s prospects.

“While you are playing, scouts are looking for disciplined and talented players,” he added.

Mr Kudze also encouraged all teams that qualified for the Middle League, including Yingor FC and Bebeto, to compete fairly.

He stressed that past success did not guarantee victory, and that every team had the potential to win with the right strategy and effort.

On behalf of the District Chief Executive, he assured the Volta Regional Football Association of the district’s support for the two teams representing the area.

Chairman of the Finance Committee, William Acumey, who congratulated the team said the Ragional FA would expect all players to adhere to the rules of the game, while supporters support thier teams in moderation.

“Football is governed by rules and regulations” Rules and regulations do not only limit itself to the playing body it extends to the supporters

“There are rules that when supporters misbehave it can affect the team”

The tour continues in Sogakope the home of Bebeto FC

The trophy tour continues its journey across the eight districts and municipalities of the qualified teams, promoting grassroots football and community engagement.
