Volta FA chairman urges U-15 team to ‘come home with glory’ ahead of Prampram tournament

The chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA), Daniel Agbogah, has urged the region’s U-15 boys’ team to stay focused and return with victory as they depart for the Elite U-15 boys’ tournament in Prampram.

Speaking during the team’s departure in front of the previous winners’ frame at the Regional FA Secretariat, Mr. Agbogah told the 18-man squad that strong performances on the national stage would secure their place in the region’s football history.

“When your name is scribed into the books of history, just like this, then you will be so proud. So stay focused and play the game,” he said.

He reminded the players that earlier Volta teams had taken the same route and returned with success through discipline and concentration.

“Your predecessors also went to this same competition, and they were focused and brought glory home,”

“They left the way you are leaving. If you also go, we want you to come back with victory; you will be honoured this way, or even better.” He added.

Volta won the inaugural Elite U-15 boys’ tournament two years ago. Last year the region finished fourth and will be hoping to improve on that performance.

Mr. Agbogah closed with a direct message to the team: “Stay focused and come home with glory.”

Executive Council member William Ackumey was also present at the send-off.

The Elite U-15 boys’ tournament, introduced by the Ghana Football Association two years ago, brings together regional teams from across the country to compete for the national title and to strengthen Ghana’s youth teams.
