Volta FA Completes Successful CMS Workshop for Stakeholders

The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has successfully concluded a training workshop for key actors of football in the region.

The workshop which was well attended by Division Two clubs, Match Commissioners, and Referees in Ho forms part of efforts to enhance football development ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Volta Regional Football season.

The workshop focused on the Competition Management System (CMS) which is the first of its kind to be introduced to key actors in football in the region.

The CMS will assist in effectively managing and administering football competitions and enhance the game in a digitalized way.

VRFA Chairman, Daniel Agbogah who was optimistic about the importance of the CMS said it will improve the efficiency, best practices and transparency of football competitions in the region.

He urged participants to take advantage of the training to enhance their skills and contribute to the development of football in the Volta Region.

The workshop covered a range of topics, including the use of CMS, match reporting, and the roles and responsibilities of Match Commissioners and Referees.

Football clubs learned how to generate and edit team sheets online and other insightful features of the CMS.

Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences, a Match Commissioner and a Referee expressed gratitude for the workshop, stating that it had provided easy and great insights that would enable them to perform their duties more effectively.

Division Two and Women’s Clubs present at the training workshop were elated, stating that the CMS will eradicate problematic issues of the league regarding Unqualified Players and protest cases.

“This solves an aspect of the Unqualified Player’s protest cases because if the player isn’t actively registered, the CMS won’t pick the player for selection on a match day,” a participant said.

The newly introduced CMS is part of the leadership of Volta FA’s initiative and efforts to develop and improve every aspect of the sport in the Region.

The CMS will also enable clubs and officials to participate in both national and international competitions.

The Volta Regional Division Two League is scheduled to start on the weekend of 14th November, 2025.
