The Executive Council of the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has announced a new incentive package to support club development in the Volta and Oti Regions.
Under the initiative, clubs that finish within the top half of their respective zones in the Division Two League will be rewarded with football equipment, beginning from the 2026/27 season.

The Chairman of the Association, Daniel Agbogah, announced the decision at the 24th Ordinary Congress held at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall on Thursday October 8, 2026.
He said the intervention is aimed at empowering clubs and ensuring collective growth of the game in the two regions.

“The ExCo has decided that beginning this 2026/2027 league season, the RFA will reward teams that place up to halfway in their respective zones with equipment as a way of empowering the growth of our clubs together,” Mr Agbogah said.
He explained that the Council wants to build a football ecosystem that supports all clubs, not only the eventual champions.
The move is expected to make the zonal competitions more competitive, with more teams having something to fight for until the end of the season, while easing the logistical burden on club owners.
The equipment support is one of two new incentive schemes unveiled at the Congress.
The other will see all Division Two clubs affiliated to the Association for 10 years or more honoured with tactical boards for their loyalty and long service to grassroots
