GFA successfully organised Free License D Coaching Course in Volta Region

The Free License D Coaching Course for grassroots coaches in the Volta Region organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) concluded on September 4, 2024, at the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho.

The course was attended by 30 men and 11 women from various Colts and Women Division One teams across the Volta and Oti regions under the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA).

The course which began on August 28 was aimed at enhancing the skills and coaching knowledge of grassroots coaches in developing young talents in the region.

During the ceremony, Mr. Daniel Agbogah, the VRFA Chairman, commended the participants and instructors for their dedication throughout the weeklong intensive course.

He emphasized the FA’s commitment to help in applying the knowledge acquired for the benefit of the region.

Mr. Agbogah urged the participants to be ambitious with their newly gained knowledge and work collectively to make the region a model for football in Ghana.

Mr. Agbogah also promised his administration would provide opportunities and a platform for the new coaches to disseminate their knowledge.

For the records, Mr. Agbogah mentioned that the two recent batches of coaching courses in the region have had a positive impact on Volta’s U-17 success at the KGL Inter-regional Championship, where Team Volta finished 4th. The Volta FA Chairman is looking forward to seeing the coaches share their knowledge in the districts.

 

He praised the GFA administration led by President Kurt Okraku for his visionary ideas for folk the growth of Ghana Football and expressed confidence in Ghana Football’s future on the global stage again.

Lieutenant Amu, the special guest, and host of the venue, congratulated the participants and advised them to further develop their coaching capacities, and emulate global technical brains in coaching to contribute to football development in the region and across Ghana.

The Lead Instructor, Mr. Charles Anokye, encouraged the participants to be good ambassadors for Ghana Football and to use their knowledge to develop football stars and “not sleep on the knowledge acquired”.

Speaking on behalf of fellow participants, Josephine Amenya and Asiwome Fiawoyife expressed their appreciation to the GFA through the Volta FA and highlighted their commitment to serving and assisting in the development of grassroots football with the knowledge they have gained.

The ceremony was also attended by Executive Council members, Hamza Mutala and Foster Kudiabor, the Regional Secretary, and Mr. Promise Ahaiagba.

The rest are District FA Chairmen from North Tongu and Ketu South, Mr. Emmanuel Letsu and Barson Folley, and course coordinators, Jedidiah Akoh and Robert Gbese.
