Regional Minister’s Cup: Pairings, modalities – what you need to know

The much-awaited Regional Minister’s Cup will kick off exactly 8am at the Youth Resource Center in Adaklu.

Eight (8) teams are expected to participate in the tournament which will see a winner crowned after the grand finale same day.

Out of the eight teams, is a group of A and B where four (4) are paired in each group.

The tournament will take a form of a knockout to progress winner in each match to the next stage of the competition.

Fixtures are out with the expectations that, group A and B shall have matches played to annex teams to the semi-finals stage.

This means that, with each pairing, a winner determined from any of the match played will automatically qualify to the semi-final stage.

The semi final games will thus produce or determine who makes it to the grand finale.

It is worth noting that, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) shall support each teams with a set of jersey and balls.

This was revealed by the Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu during the presser.

Again, winner of the tournament will receive trophy, medals as well as cash prize which are all funded by the Regional Minister.

In all, there will be seven (7) matches to be played as all participating teams are expected to put up their maximum best to be crowned champions of the maiden Regional Minister’s Cup at the Youth Resource Center come Friday 14th February 2025.
