The Executive Council of the Volta Regional Football Association has placed a temporal ban on Sunset Football Club from using Sir Noble Park for the Club’s home matches with immediate effect.
This decision was taken following preliminary information available to the Executive Council, regarding violent incident recorded at the match between Sunset FC and Kisifli Golden Stars FC played at Sir Noble Park on 25th January, 2026.
The Organising Committee of the VRFA will determine venue for the club for their upcoming home matches until such time the matter is determined by the Disciplinary Committee of the RFA.
The Executive Council has taken this decision in accordance with its powers under Article 14(2) of the GFA Regional Football Associations Leagues Regulations.
Article 14(2) of the GFA Regional Football Associations Leagues Regulations states: “The RFA may order the closure of any league centre/venue where the safety of clubs, match officials and/or spectators cannot be guaranteed”.
The Executive Council further directs that the Disciplinary Committee of the RFA expedite action in investigating the situation to ensure fair justice is served on deserving party(ies) to avert recurrence of such incidents reported.
The RFA urge clubs and their supporters to desist from practices that will bring the game into disrepute.
