Volta FA Chairman, Daniel Agbogah Assures Safety Environment for Women’s Clubs Ahead of Zonal Championship.

The Volta Regional Football Association Chairman, Mr. Daniel Agbogah has assured all Women’s Clubs participating in the Zonal Championship of a safe and supportive environment ahead of the tournament.

The Zonal Championship, which is being held at the WAFA Park in Sogakofe is a qualification series for the Regional Women’s Clubs for the southern zone into the Women Premier League for the 2024/25 League season.

The championship is a weeklong competition that commenced on Thursday, June 13, and will end on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

In his welcome address, Chairman Agbogah guaranteed the club’s safety and wished them a successful and enjoyable tournament.

“We welcome all clubs to our region and I want to use this opportunity to assure all club that you are safe with 24 hour security and with the help of the Ghana Football Association we stand for fair play and we hope everything will be free and fair. I wish all clubs well and the best of a safe stay.” Chairman Agbogah said.

Six clubs from the Greater Accra, Eastern, Central, and Volta Regions are competing for two possible slots ahead of the 2024/25 Women’s Premier League.

The Volta Region is represented by Luta Thunder Queens who are champions of the Volta Regional Women’s League.

The rest are Halifax Queens, Mfantseman Ladies, Rootz Sistaz FC, Epiphany Ladies, and Samatex Ladies.
