Volta FA outlines progress at 24th Congress in Ho

Volta Regional Football Association Chairman, Daniel Agbogah has outlined significant progress made in the 2025/26 season.

Speaking at the 24th Ordinary Session of Congress at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall on Wednesday, Mr Agbogah said the association had made gains both on and off the pitch.

He said there had been a drastic reduction in violence at match venues across Volta and Oti, a development he described as key to attracting more support for the game.

Mr Agbogah said branding had improved among Division Two clubs, with many now actively using social media to promote their activities and attract sponsorship.

On player development, he said there had been increased progression of players from the two regions to the Ghana Premier League, the Division One League and abroad.

He added that the Volta Division Two League is now more competitive, following an influx of players from other regions.

The chairman said the association has successfully organised the Regional FA Cup for five consecutive seasons.

He said trophies and medals were presented to all zonal champions in Division Two, while the innovative Trophy Tour initiative has taken football closer to communities.

The tour, he noted, was combined with tree planting exercises to help safeguard the environment.

He said Volta now boasts several clubs in the Division One League and has produced at least five players for the national Under-15 and Under-17 teams in the year under review.

Mr Agbogah commended clubs, match officials and other stakeholders for their contribution to the progress.
