Keta Football Club recorded a win to crown their Middle League campaign this afternoon when they beat Sons of Thunder 1-0 at the Ho Sports Stadium.
Despite bowing out of the tournament, Keta FC got a consolation win after the 90th minute.
Their presence in the the game was felt in the early minutes. A game that saw Keta FC pushing the first department with decent chances to their credit. They finally got a prize when Kluvitse Hope Ager made no mistake in burying the ball from the spot.
It was Sons of Thunder who took the game to Keta FC after recess, but their efforts to find the equalizer went in vain. A game of ruin chances from both sides but Keta FC ensured their lead was protected despite the last minute pressure mounted from their opponent. It was all but a win for Keta FC to end their season.
At 3 pm, WAFA SC put up a stunning performance when they netted 3 goals without Selion finding the answers to any of them to climax the end of Group B fixtures.
Hopes were high in the game as the two teams had the same points of 4 coming into today’s game. WAFA SC took the lead through Nuhu Usman in the 16th minute.
An expectant crowd went blazing with the sublime finisher from the midfielder.
Selion FC tried responding when a low drive was sent to the goalie but was saved to keep the scoreline at 1-0 in the first half.
The academy boys got two goals in the 63rd and 78th minutes respectively to book a date for the grand finale.
The showers in the game rather blessed WAFA than Selion FC to carry the day after an additional 4 minutes was added by center referee William Agbovi.
With this win, WAFA SC has secured a spot for the finale on Sunday as they wait for league leaders in Group A in tomorrow’s outstanding game between Inter Allies and Kpetoe Diamond FC.
