Volta Regional Football Association Chairman, Mr Daniel Agboga has expressed some words of encouragement to the U-17 team after suffering semi-finals defeat to Eastern Region in the ongoing KGL U-17 Inter Regional Championship
The Volta U-17 team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Eastern Region after goalless draw in regular time at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Chairman praised the team and wished them all the best in their upcoming third place game after meeting the team at their camp in Prampram.
“Before this game we were hoping for win but unfortunately, we had a draw and lost on penalties. It wasn’t that we were scored in regular time, is part of the game, it doesn’t mean you’ve not done well.” Chairman Daniel told the team.
“I know you guys are sad but the performance you have sustain for our region is historic. The Eastern Region team also lost on penalties last year at this stage, I’m here to encourage you for your good work,”
“Now we are part of top four and is a past mark, this is an improvement from what transpired in Kumasi last year. You have showcased yourself and we are proud of you, wishing you all the best in the third place game.” He concluded.
The team is currently preparing towards the third place game against Northern Region on Thursday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
