Volta FA Hands a Temporal Ban on Two Match Venues.

The Volta Regional Football Association (RFA) has taken swift action against two match venues in the region, following violent incidents at recent matches.

A directive issued by the RFA’s Executive Council on Tuesday has resulted in the temporary closure of Dzemeni Tongor Park and Agbozume National Park.

The decision comes after disturbances marred matches between African Stars FC and Kpetoe Diamond FC, and Agbozume United FC and Ketu White Stars FC on 2 March.

The RFA has referred the matter to its Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and action.

In the meantime, African Stars FC will play their home matches at the Ho Sports Stadium, while Agbozume United FC will host their matches at the Aflao Diamond Park.

The two clubs have been informed of their responsibilities to ensure their new home grounds meet the necessary standards.

The RFA has reiterated its commitment to stamping out unsporting behaviour, which it says brings the game into disrepute.

“We take a serious view of incidents that compromise the integrity of the game.”

The temporary closures are expected to remain in place until the Disciplinary Committee has completed its investigation.
