The Volta FA Regional Middle League officially kicked off on June 7, 2025, with a spectacular opening ceremony on 8 June, 2025, at the Ho Sports Stadium.
This year’s tournament, themed “Leveraging Football to Promote Tourism,” aimed to promote football development along with the region’s rich cultural heritage.
All eight qualified teams lined up on the field with their logos proudly displayed in front.
The crowd erupted into cheers and applause.
The teams, each representing various zones in the Volta Regional Division Two Middle League, stood tall, with thier eyes fixed on the coveted trophy and a possible promotion to the National Division One League.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom.
In his address, Hon. Adom commended the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) for hosting an innovative event.
He pledged his support to the tournament and also reiterated the government’s commitment to building a modern stadium in the Volta Region.
“I am here to support the RFA, the Football Association has done well and I believe this will go a long way of developing sports in the region.”
“As the MCE I will also help to ensure the President promise of building a new stadium comes to fruition,” He said.
Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, Mr. Daniel Agbogah, urged the participating teams to exhibit good sportsmanship and discipline throughout the tournament.
“The middle league is a one week event, I urged all participating teams to put up with a good behavior both on and off the pitch to avoid any sanction. I wish all the teams the best of luck” the Chairman said.
He wished the teams the best of luck in the week-long football festival.
The eight qualified teams competing in the tournament are Yadzo Oti Warriors, Akatsi Kickers FC, Aveyime Soccer Wonders, Nugata FC, Kpetoe Diamond FC, NADM SC, Selion FC, and WAFA SC.
The Regional Middle League runs from June 7 to June 15, 2025, at the Ho Sports Stadium.
With the tournament underway, football enthusiasts can expect thrilling matches and intense competition among the participating teams.
