The 2024/25 Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) Women’s Division One Middle League begins today, 11 April 2025, at the Adaklu Youth Resource Center, with four teams competing for a coveted spot to the Zonal Championship.
Anlo Ladies, Dream Big Ladies, Adidome Unity Ladies, and Mepe Peace Ladies will face off in a round-robin format, with the team accruing the highest to be crowned champion of Volta Women’s Division One League.
The women’s league which drawn significant local interest is a crucial stepping stone for women’s football development in the Volta Region.
Today’s opening fixtures will see Dream Big Ladies take on Anlo Ladies at 1:00 PM, followed by Mepe Peace Ladies clashing with Adidome Unity Ladies at 3:00 PM.
The action continues through the weekend, with matches scheduled for Saturday, 12 April, and the final on Sunday, 13 April.
Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, Daniel Agbogah, has emphasised the tournament’s role in nurturing talent and elevating the profile of women’s football in the region.
Supporters and fans of womens football are encouraged to attend, as Volta FA Secretary, Promise Ahiagba assured competitive matches and a festive women’s football atmosphere at the Adaklu venue.
The Middle League concludes this Sunday, with the winner joining other regional competitors from the Southern Zone of the Women’s Championship for possible promotion to the 2025/26 Women’s Premier League season.
