The Volta Regional Football Association U-19 boys’ team has departed for Prampram ahead of the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship.
A squad of 20 players left Ho on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by members of the technical and management team.
The team was seen off in their full purple kit and will spend the next one week in camp at the GFA Technical Centre ahead of the tournament.
Team Volta has been drawn in Group A alongside Ashanti, Eastern, Western, and Upper West Regions.
The team has been in camp for the past one week undergoing intensive training and preparations for the regional assignment.
Speaking ahead of the trip, VRFA Chairman Daniel Agbogah congratulated the players for making it through the regional selection process.
“Be proud that you are part of the regional U-19 team to represent your region and give your all to shine in your career. Go and make us proud, and make your football dreams come true,” Mr. Agbogah said.
He expressed confidence in the squad and urged them to represent the Volta Region with discipline, pride and determination.
“My eyes are red for success. Yours should be 10 times as red as mine. Be hungry for success,” Mr. Agbogah added.
Also present at the departure were Ken Selase Bannor and Mr. Barson Foli, members of the Regional Teams Committee. Mr. Foli is also the District Chairman for Ketu South Municipality.
They encouraged the players to put up their best and represent the region with pride.
The MTN Elite U-19 Championship is aimed at scouting, identifying and developing the best young football talent in the country.
The tournament runs from Monday, August 24 to Thursday, September 4, 2026 at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram.
The competition will bring together the best young talents from Ghana’s 10 Regional Football Associations.
The Volta FA wished the team safe travels and success in the competition.
