GFA FREE Juvenile Coaches Course Underway in the Volta Region

The second batch of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Free Juvenile Coaching Course is currently underway in the Volta Region.

The coaching course, held at the Volta Regional Youth Resource Center in Adaklu, is part of the GFA’s initiative and efforts to develop and strengthen the technical capacity of the game in Ghana, particularly at the grassroots level.

The training, which commenced on Monday, July 20, 2025, will run until Monday, July 28, 2025, covering various aspects of coaching, including basic techniques in passing, receiving, dribbling, and shooting.

Volta FA Chairman, Mr. Daniel Agbogah encouraged participants to make the most of the course.

He urged them to say a prayer for the GFA President, Mr. Kurt Okraku anytime they go on thier knees to pray.

He added that “It takes a leader with great vision to initiate a program such as this for free for participants”.

Mr. Agbogah commended Mr. Kurt Okraku and his national executive for the laudable initiative to train coaches across the country.

He use the occasion to advised the participants to criticize positively and and desist from saying things that would discourage leadership.

“Criticism is part of life, no one is perfect but I would urge that we look at the bigger and positive impact of policies and initiatives,” he added.

Mr. Agbogah noted that within five years, the Volta Region has seen over 200 coaches benefit from such training, expressing optimism that the region will reap the fruits of this investment in the years to come.

GFA Technical Instructor, Mr. Wilson Burton Asare, who officially declared the course open, also lauded GFA President Kurt Okraku’s ambitions to see Ghanaian football thrive.

Mr. Asare reiterated and complemented the words of the RFA Chairman, urging participants to pray for Mr. Okraku, and may never know his intentions but easily criticize him.

“I am very touched by what the RFA Chairman said, When you pray, pray for the GFA President, you may never know his intention but you can easily criticize,” he said,

The GFA Instructor is confident the course will eventually bear fruit for future generations of Ghanaian football, especially at the grassroots level.

“For me as I stand here, I know these things will bear fruits for our children to enjoy” he added.

 

 

Present at the ceremony were Volta FA Secretary, Promise Michael Ahiagba, Executive Council Members, Hamza Mutala and Mr. Frank Fudzi, as well as Volta Regional Instructors, Nana Bodua, and Simon Kpewu, and Robert Gbeze who is assisting in coordinating the program.
