The 2025 Inter-District Juvenile Championship for U-15 and U-17 has received widespread praise for its exceptional refereeing standards at the Youth Resource Center and Ho Sports Stadium.
Ten talented referees, selected from fifteen participating districts under the “Catch Them Young” initiative, delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament.

Neatly dressed in their sleek uniforms, provided by the Ghana Football Association’s innovative refereeing policy, these young referees officiated with poise and confidence, applying the rules of association football without controversy.
In the coming days, the Regional Football Association will conduct a thorough evaluation of their performances, with helpful feedback and recommendations for their future development.

The “Catch Them Young” Referee Policy is a GFA initiative aimed at identifying, educating, and training young talents aged 13 to 16 to officiate juvenile matches within their regions.
The impressive display of these ten referees at the Inter-District tournament is an important step for youth development programs in the Volta Region and beyond, indicating a bright future for football in Volta and Ghana as a whole.
