Dzemeni Schools Welcome Volta FA Trophy Tour

Students from schools in Dzemeni expressed excitement as the Volta FA Trophy Tour stopped in their community, giving them a first glimpse of the prize for the region’s top league.

Pupils from Tongor Senior High School, Dzemeni E.P. Primary School, and Dzemeni R.C. Primary School gathered with community leaders and football stakeholders to welcome the trophy.

Many said it was the first time they had seen such an event in the area.

Volta FA Chairman Daniel Agbogah used the occasion to encourage the students to balance education with their sporting ambitions.

“Combine your academics with your football talents.” Mr. Agbogah said.

“Football can open doors, but education gives you a foundation to make the most of those opportunities.” He said.

The Dzemeni stop is part of the FA’s regional Trophy Tour, home of Dzemeni Maranatha FC, one of the eight qualified clubs in the upcoming Regional Middle League which starts from the 23rd-31st of March, 2026 in Ho.

This year’s tour is running under the theme “Kick for the Planet, Planting Goals, Planting Trees” campaign in partnership with the Forestry Commission, with 100 trees to be planted in each host community.

The Trophy will visit all eight districts and municipalities of clubs participating in the Middle League ahead of the official launch in Ho.

The Trophy Tour is aimed at using football as a tool for unity and social change.

Last year the tour focused on tourism and culture, while the 2026 tour is centred on climate action and community impact.
