The Chief of Jasikan and Adontenhene of the Buem Traditional Area, Nana Brantuo Kpese, says football can resolve chieftaincy and communal disputes.
He, therefore, appealed to the Volta Regional Football Association to expand its promotional activities in Kwamekrom and across the Buem area to promote peace, unity and development.

Speaking at his palace when the town hosted the second stop of Volta FA Trophy Tour, Nana Brantuo Kpese said, “Sport has the power to bring people together when words fail.”
“We count on the RFA to bring more football to our schools and communities. We will give you our full support,” he added.

Volta FA Chairman Mr Daniel Agbogah thanked the chief and the people of Kwamekrom for the warm reception.
He said the tour combined grassroots football development with the “Kick for the Planet” environmental campaign aimed at planting trees and not just displaying the trophy.

Mr Agbogah said the RFA would continue using football for youth development and community cohesion, and wished Nkonya All Stars FC well ahead of the Middle League.
Nkonya All Stars Captain Mensah Success assured the community that the team would be highly competitive in its bid to bring the trophy to Kwamekrom for the first time.
He thanked supporters for attending in large numbers.

A symbolic tree-planting exercise was held as part of the tour’s climate action message.
It was led by Mr Agbogah, alongside Togbe Yife, headman of Newtown, and the team captain.

Kwamekrom is home to Nkonya All Stars FC, one of two Oti Region sides to qualify for the Volta FA Division Two Middle League for the first time.
The tour will visit all eight districts and municipalities with teams in the Middle League ahead of the launch in Ho.
The next stop is Dzemeni and Kpetoe, home of Maranatha FC and Diamond FC respectively, on Tuesday 19, May 2026.
